Updated: 2024-04-24

The Hurun Research Institute has officially released the Global Unicorn Index 2024, which features unlisted companies around the world valued at over $1 billion and established after 2000.

Ten companies from Beijing E-Town made it to the list: JD Technology, JD Industrials, Eswin, Beijing E-Town Semiconductor, GalaxySpace, LandSpace, Galactic Energy, CapitalBio Technology, JOINN Biologics, and Qingteng Cloud Security. Pony.ai and iSpace, which have branches in Beijing E-Town, were also included.

According to the 2024 index, there are currently 1,453 unicorn companies worldwide, with China ranking second with 340 companies, mainly in the artificial intelligence, semiconductor, and new energy industries.

The companies from Beijing E-Town that made the list cover various sectors including fintech, e-commerce, industrial internet, semiconductors, aerospace, biotechnology, and network security.

In terms of industries, Beijing E-Town has a clear advantage in its four leading sectors. In the field of biopharmaceuticals, JOINN Biologics aims to become a world-leading CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) for biopharmaceuticals.

Recently, the company successfully supported the clinical approval of a recombinant shingles vaccine project in both China and the U.S., providing high-quality services during the CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) development phase for the project's IND (Investigational New Drug) application.

In the new-generation information technology field, Qingteng Cloud Security, a provider of comprehensive cloud security solutions with core technology, has already done stable and efficient security protection for over 1,000 large-scale clients and over 8 million core servers in industries such as government, finance, telecommunications, energy, electricity, manufacturing, and the internet.

In the commercial aerospace sector, LandSpace has completed the cold flow test on the liquid oxygen tank of the second stage pressurized delivery system for the PALLAS-1 rocket, laying a solid foundation for subsequent sub-stage engine tests and the first remote launch.
