Updated: 2024-07-05

On June 28, Mayor Yin Yong met with Jean-Baptiste Chasseloup de Chatillon, executive vice president and head of Global Manufacturing and Supply at Sanofi.

According to Yin, Beijing, as the capital city, boasts abundant resources in pharmaceutical health technology, education, and talent and has a solid foundation and innovative ecosystem for the development of the pharmaceutical and health industry.

In recent years, leveraging the construction of the "Two Zones," Beijing has steadily promoted high-level opening up with a focus on institutional openness, continuously creating a top-tier business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, convenient, and international.

The mayor stressed the city has vigorously carried out pioneering reforms in the pharmaceutical health sector and the industry's development momentum is strong.

Meanwhile, Sanofi, a globally renowned pharmaceutical company, has been encouraged to make full use of Beijing's resource advantages, further increase its investment in research and development and the layout of the industrial and supply chains in the capital, and boost cooperation with Beijing-based enterprises and institutions to jointly promote high-quality development of the pharmaceutical and health industry.

The Beijing Municipal Government has committed to improve the "service package" and "service steward" systems, in an effort to serve various enterprises in their development and investment in Beijing.

Jean-Baptiste Chasseloup de Chatillon highly praised Beijing's business environment and the level of service provided to enterprises.

He expressed that Sanofi has witnessed and participated in China's reform and opening up process and the development of Beijing, and is willing to continue  strengthening its presence in the Chinese market, increase investment in research and development and production layout in Beijing, benefiting more patients.

Secretary-General of the Municipal Government Zeng Jin attended the meeting.
