The Tiangong Open Source Initiative conference is held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.

The National-Local Co-built Humanoid Robot Innovation Center held the Tiangong Open Source Initiative conference in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Nov 11.

Established in November 2023 and upgraded to the National-Local Co-built Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in October this year, the center serves as a key platform leading breakthroughs in humanoid intelligent technology and industry synergy and focuses on solving key common technical issues in the development of embodied intelligent robots.

As the Tiangong Open Source Initiative was launched, the center will collaborate with global universities, research institutes, and integrators for secondary development of humanoid robots, as well as jointly build an influential open-source community for embodied intelligence.

The center has released the "Tiangong" software development documentation and structural design documentation. By the end of this year, it will open the source of Tiangong's structural drawings, software architecture, electrical systems, and other content. Additionally, datasets and motion control training frameworks will also be gradually made open-source.

To date, Beijing E-Town has gathered over a 100 robotics ecosystem enterprises, with an output value of nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion), accounting for 50 percent of Beijing's robotics industry.

E-Town plans to open up more achievements in humanoid intelligence to the entire industry, accelerating the establishment of the world's most influential humanoid intelligence open-source community, promoting breakthroughs in humanoid intelligence technology, product iteration, and the implementation of application scenarios.
